8 Simple ways to encourage Hair Growth

Long Hair
We are heading for a heatwave, so we’ve highlighted five short trendy styles guaranteed to help you stay cool this summer, from the classic chic bob to a trendy mohawk, not only that – short hair is seriously on-trend.

Hair grows on average around six inches each year, according to The American Academy of Dermatology Association. However, when you factor in that some people lose 50-100 hairs each day, that hair growth can feel incredibly slow.

With changes to your day-to-day hair care regimen, you could potentially grow your hair faster, naturally. Here are a few simple ways.

  1. Trim your hair regularly

Now you’re probably thinking, cut my hair to let it grow? Cutting your hair won’t actually make your hair grow, however, what it will do is encourage healthy hair. Eliminating breakage in your hair, thus no drastic cuts in the long term.

  1. Eat a healthy diet

Having strong healthy needs a healthy diet. Protein is the building block of hair. Protein doesn’t have to come from meat, try including or increasing your protein intake with nuts and whole grains and look for foods high in vitamins A, C and E, and omega-3 fatty acids

  1. Try a supplement

If you don’t think you’re getting everything you need from your diet then supplements can be equally as important. Try a supplement designed specifically for your hair. Something containing vitamins like biotin and C and B are perfect.

  1. Shampoo less

Shampooing your hair too often stops the natural hydrating process. Try to minimse shampooing to two or three times a week this allows your hair to hydrate and repair itself.

  1. Condition and Protect

Using a deep conditioner or hair mask regularly can help prevent damage. Conditioner makes your hair softer and easier to manage whilst protecting hair shafts from damage.

  1. Brush regularly

Try to include a hairbrush in your nightly face treatment regime. Brushing your hair before bed is great for your hair health it also helps increase circulation. Therefore making your scalp healthier.

  1. Turn down the temperature

A hot shower won’t just dehydrate your skin it’s also pretty rough on your hair. Lowering the temp aids in closing the hair cuticle, allowing the hair to reflect more light, which results in beautiful shiny, healthy-looking hair.

  1. Avoid excessive heat

Lastly, don’t over-style your hair, a little heat is ok, but always use a heat protectant to reduce the risk of damaging your hair.
